Kalama School District seeks to fill a vacancy on its Board after District 1 Director Susan Dennis-Langham tendered her resignation, which was approved by the Board on Monday, February 12.

Nearly two years remain on the current District Director 1 term, which, per Board Policy 1114 and Procedure 1114P, will be filled by the Board following an application period and round of public interviews. 

Members of the community are encouraged to apply for the position or nominate candidates for the position. Nominees and applicants must be resident taxpayers of Director District 1 and a United States citizen.

The newly-appointed Board Director will be sworn in at the regular School Board meeting on March 11, and will serve the remainder of the unexpired term for District 1 through November 2025. 

Applications must be received by 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

To apply for the open position, please complete this short Board Member Applicant Questionnaire and email it along with a cover letter and resume to teresa.young@kalama.k12.wa.us by February 28. Applications can also be dropped off at the District Office (548 China Garden Road).
