Kalama School District has launched ParentSquare, a simple and unified school-to-home communication platform, to reach and engage families throughout the 2022-2023 school year.

ParentSquare’s intuitive, two-way platform promises to foster greater communication and family involvement. With ParentSquare, school staff and parents/guardians can engage in both one-to-one and group messaging with real-time language translation. Additionally, the platform supports photo and file sharing, forms and permission slips, attendance, and much more.

District and school administrators plan to use ParentSquare for the bulk of district-level and school-wide communications this school year. At the classroom level, teachers will be easing into the platform throughout the first semester, though some may opt to communicate by other means during the transition.

“We’ve heard from our community about the importance of meaningful, transparent communication; communication that goes beyond just talking, but one that involves listening, responsiveness and connection. That’s why our district has adopted the ParentSquare communication platform,” said Eric Nerison, Kalama School District Superintendent. “We’re looking forward to reaching 100% of our families no matter where they are, or what language they speak – unifying our communications tools and adopting a more eco-friendly approach by reducing the amount of paper we use to send important communications.”

Kalama School District’s partnership with ParentSquare will enable stronger engagement between school and home, and help empower everyone within the school community to stay connected and informed.
