Sept Student of Month

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Jourdyn, Kalama School District’s Students of the Month! The KMS Reward System that is being implemented for the 25-26 school year was the brainchild of Elizabeth and Jourdyn. Last year, they were having a conversation with Mrs. McCallum about student behavior and decided to research positive behavior support programs.

They worked during the spring of 2025 to develop their ideas and put together a presentation. This Chinook Reward Program was designed to recognize hard work, effort and positivity.  Students earn tickets to spend on prizes at the end of the week. They can earn tickets for positive behavior, school spirit, being prepared for class, showing improvement, helping others and several other ways. Elizabeth and Jourdyn also created a video to explain the rewards program to the middle school students at the start of the year.  Students are currently earning tickets and can trade them for prizes.

Elizabeth and Jourdyn are both kind hard working students. They are juniors at KHS and are both taking College in the High School courses to challenge themselves. Both are involved in leadership activities on campus as well.

Join us in congratulating them for being students of the Month for September.
