Qualifying families who enroll in the federal SUN Bucks program (also known as Summer EBT) will receive $120 for each eligible school-aged child to help cover the cost of groceries when school is out of session.
Like last summer, enrolled students who are approved for free/reduced-price meals will automatically become eligible for SUN Bucks. If your student is not currently eligible for meal benefits, or you are unsure of eligibility, check out this online screening tool from Hunger Free Washington.
English and Spanish Free & Reduced Meals applications are available on our website. If you have questions regarding your child’s school meal eligibility status, please contact Laurie Merwin at 360-673-5282 or laurie.merwin@kalama.k12.wa.us.
SUN Bucks will be issued beginning mid-June through the end of August.
Note: SUN Bucks cards mailed to incorrect addresses will be returned to the state, so if you have recently moved, please contact your school office to ensure your current address is on file.
