Kalama School District is now enrolling Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students for the 2023-2024 school year. Enrollment opened on Monday, March 27.
Families with children who are five years of age by August 31, 2023 and who reside in the district are eligible to enroll for full-day kindergarten. Kalama School District’s kindergarten program provides young learners with the opportunity to develop essential social, emotional and problem-solving skills, preparing them for success in later grades and life.
Families with children who are four years of age by August 31, 2023 and who reside in the district are eligible to enroll for the district's Transitional Kindergarten program (when space allows). Also known as "TK" or "Junior Kindergarten," Transitional Kindergarten is a no-cost, full-day early learning program designed to prepare four-year-olds for the transition to Kindergarten.
To enroll in either program, families will need to provide a copy of their child’s birth certificate as well as current immunization records.
Families can learn more about the district’s early learning and Kindergarten offerings during an open house “Round-Up” event on Tuesday, March 28 and Thursday, March 30 from 4 to 6:30 pm. Attendees will be able to visit classrooms, meet the teachers, and get questions answered. Families are asked to contact the school office at 360-673-5207 to RSVP.
