Request for Qualifications and Proposals
Special Inspection and Testing Services –
New Kalama Elementary School
Kalama School District
The Kalama School District is requesting qualifications and proposals for Special
Inspection and Testing services from interested firms for the new Elementary School
Project located at 548 China garden Road, Kalama, WA.
Qualification information and proposals should be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m. on May 24, 2019. Interested firms with recent experience in SPECIAL INSPECTION AND TESTING, as listed in Chapter 17 of the International Building Code, and as required by project documents, are encouraged to submit qualifications and cost proposal.
In order to be considered, interested firms should submit their qualifications statement
addressing the following:
• Firm’s background and qualifications.
• Experience with public school districts
• Experience with and approval from local authorities having jurisdiction in Kalama,
Cowlitz County, WA.
• References from Public School representatives, names and contact information.
• Resumes, licenses and copies of certifications as appropriate for key individuals
providing service and performing the work for this project including but not limited
to evidence of Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) Special
Inspectors registration and certifications.
• Availability to commence work beginning in June of this year and commit to
serving the project through completion.
Statement of Qualifications Package shall be limited to no more than 15 pages, 8.5” X
11.5” plus a letter of introduction. The accompanying fee proposal shall be presented
with scope assumptions and cost rational as well as a listing of standard unit prices.
Kalama School District will review all applicants and select the most qualified firm with
which to negotiate a mutually agreeable fee for the anticipated scope of work based on
project requirements.
Plans and specifications for testing and inspection firms shall be made available to
interested firms by contacting Laura Pedersen, Project Manager at
laura.pedersen@esd112.org. All questions shall be directed to the above person via
email. Final Statement of Qualifications shall be submitted to the above named project
manager.
