Due to heavy rain showers in the forecast, tomorrow’s KHS graduation ceremony has been moved from Chinook Stadium to inside the school Gymnasium. The event remains scheduled for 7 p.m.
Kalama HS Senior Awards Night will be held at 7:00pm in the HS Gym on June 9th. Graduation will be at 7:00pm at the stadium on June 10th. No tickets necessary this year for attendance.
All 10th grade students will be taking the Math Smarter Balanced Assessment on Monday 5/16 & Tuesday 5/17. Make-up testing for 11th graders will also be taken at the same time. Just a reminder, passing the Math SBA is a graduation requirement so please remind your student to bring their charged school issued computer and to come to school well rested on testing days.
Attention KHS students, tickets for the dance this weekend are being sold during lunch or in the main office starting Thursday, 4/14. The dance is on 4/16 from 8-11 at KHS. Help us spread the word!
Attention 8th Grade Parents: We will be hosting an 8th grade "Transition to High School" meeting on Monday 3/28 at 6:00 in the Lower Commons of the MS/HS building. This will be an opportunity for students and parents to hear more about the class of 2026 graduation requirements and choosing classes for 9th grade. We look forward to seeing you and your student at the meeting.
Attention students in grades 9-11, please turn in your Forecasting Form to request your classes for the 22-23 school year. Current 8th graders will be choosing their high school classes during the last week of March.
During Conference Week, current 9th-11th graders will be selecting courses to take next school year. Please talk with your student about their course options. 9th graders and 11th graders will complete their form during their Student Led Conference. All forms, with a parent/guardian signature, should be turned into the office by March 18th.
KHS has Early Release at 12:10 during Conference Week March 15-March 18. All 9th and 11th graders have required student led conferences. Call the office on Monday if you haven’t scheduled a time for your conference.

Monday, Jan. 3: School bus Routes 505 and 506 on China Garden Road will be on snow routes this afternoon. This means there will be no bus travel beyond Rogers Road.
12/06/21 - The order to boil and conserve water due to a water main break DOES NOT affect Kalama School District. We are running as normal with no orders to boil or conserve water per a conversation with the City of Kalama.
Football semi-finals are this Saturday! Kalama vs. Onalaska @ Centralia High School. 1 p.m. kickoff.
This Friday, your KHS Football team is playing against South Umpqua at Sam Barlow High School in Gresham, OR (5105 SE 302nd Ave.). The game kicks off at 6 p.m. and spectators are welcome to sit in the visitor or home stands. Masks will be required.
Student Conferences are being held 10/19-10/20. Please call the office to schedule a conference time with your student's teachers. Individual conferences are being held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Group teacher conferences are being held on Wednesdsay for those families who would like to meet with all of your student's teacher as a group.
Tonight's volleyball match against Winlock is varsity only (no JV). The game starts at 6 p.m.
We are now anticipating a crowd in excess of 500 people for tonight's football game! If you plan to attend, please come prepared to mask up. This will allow us to avoid any limits on the number of spectators. Thank you!
Note: The first day of school (Wednesday, Sept. 1) is NOT an early release Wednesday. School will release at 3 pm (KES) and 3:10 pm (KMS/KHS).
KHS Summer School for Semester 1 Credit Recovery has begun. Summer School will run from 6/14-7/1 Monday-Thursday from 9-12. Transportation and food service is being provided. Daily attendance is required.
