Bagged lunch

Kalama School District has announced an adjusted time for its free meal pick-up service.

Effective Monday, March 22, no-cost grab-and-go meals will be available to all children (ages 0-18) on school days between 11-11:30 a.m.

This new, shorter timeframe allows the district to more effectively schedule its meal service staff, who are now in higher demand with the addition of hybrid learning at the middle and high school.

"The new meal pick-up schedule will help to free up staff members who are needed in other areas," said Heidi Neiman, KSD Director of Dining Services. "We've also observed that the vast majority of families picking up meals have been doing so between 11 and 11:30 a.m."

The grab-and-go meals, which include breakfast & lunch items, can be picked up at the southwest corner of the new elementary school.

The program will run through the end of the current school year.
