What We Do

Middle school students are characterized by rapid physical growth, curiosity about their world and an emerging self-identity. Middle school counselors have an impact on these years by implementing a school counseling program and collaborating with school staff, parents and the community to create a safe, respectful learning environment whereby young adolescents can maximize personal and academic achievement.*

Our counseling services include, but are not limited to, support in the following areas:

Personal & social

  • Meet with students individually and in small groups

  • Restorative Justice (Peer mediation and conflict resolution)

  • Provide a safe and confidential environment for students to talk about issues that are bothering them

  • Provide community referrals

Academic & career

  • Academic and career planning

  • Registration and scheduling support

  • Using data to determine intervention and accelerated placement for students

  • Help with developing good study habits

  • Preparation for high school
