This year we are hosting the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 8:30.  Juniors who are planning to apply directly to a four-year school upon graduation should strongly consider taking the PSAT.  It not only provides an opportunity to practice for the SAT college entrance tests but also, taken as a Junior, the PSAT is the route of entry into the National Merit Scholarship Programs as well as other award programs.  Sophomores who are planning to go directly to a four-year school should consider taking the PSAT as a practice prior to taking this as a Junior year when the scores are used for qualifying for the National Merit Program. The fee to take the PSAT this year is $15.00.  Students need to sign up and pay for the test in the office no later than Friday, Oct 5.  The test will begin at 8:30 on Saturday Oct. 19.
